One of my favorite ever shows
When she took a few solos during the show, I was pretty amazed by what she could do, if only because I'd only ever known Derek to play the leads in the band. For such a large band, they have amazing chemistry that can probably only be rivaled by The E Street Band, and since the sound quality at the Beacon is very good, you can hear each and every one of them clearly.
Derek Trucks is, in my opinion, the greatest living guitarist, and words can't adequately explain how good he really is. There's only one or two other bands that get this distinction for me, so suffice it to say that I was incredibly impressed. People may debate whether he or his idol Duane Allman is the best slide player of all time, but either way, know that you're going to see an extremely rare talent when at his shows. And Derek Trucks is, in my opinion, the greatest living guitarist, and words can't adequately explain how good he really is.
I was already a fan of The Renaissance Orchestra, but after seeing them live, I've decided I am going to try and see them every time they're in town, because they're good enough that I might never get tired of seeing them play. Susan Tedeschi is already known as a fantastic singer, but I didn't realize what a great musician she was as well. But the thing I noticed about him that really amazed me beyond his obvious playing qualities was his ability to lead this massive band like a conductor, and go out of his way to share the spotlight with each and every amazing musician in his band.
